Est  imated Sustainable Discharge Rate,
Based on the Rate the Level of Mountain Lake Drops

We thank the employees at Moran State Park
for providing this data as part of the Mountain Lake Management and Operations Agreement.

The discharge rate from Mountain in the fall of 1993 was approximately 748 acre ft/yr
The discharge rate from Mountain after the 93/94 rains was approximately 550 acre ft/yr
The net loss in storage from Mountain Lake was 238 acre ft.

Without depleting the storage during these non drought years,
using the average of the discharge rates going into and coming out of the 93/94 rainy season,
the sustainable discharge is estimated at 495 acre ft/year

It would be very interesting to correlate the levels with detailed rainfall records Olga residents have provided to NOAA.
